Summer Updates!

Well...here I am again two months later...I have a lot to share so I hope you all enjoy every bit of it!
(Disclaimer: I have yet to figure out how to move the pictures and videos around so if this seems disjointed...it is!)

Our most recent and most exciting news is that Madison got a new hairdo! Her bangs...which I've been growing out since last July...were finally down to her chin so I decided to make the giant leap and give her a chin length bob. I talked to her about it first and let her know that she wouldn't be able to have ponytails for a while and she said, "that's okay, it will grow back!" What a sport! So we cut it and she LOVES it...as do I!

Overall, we have had a great summer. Maddie is still enjoying dance on Wednesdays and we go to the pool at least once a week if not 2-3 times. We have had lots of playdates with our best friends Abby and Kamryn and eaten lots of lunches at Chick-fil-A (pronounced chick-SIL-A if you are maddie) since it has an indoor playscape.

Kenzie is now pulling up to her feet all the time and her favorite pasttime is dancing...just like big sister! She is still pretty much the best baby ever--I couldn't ask for anything better (and that's what I said with maddie) we have surely been blessed with good kiddos!

Madison was able to attend one day of VBS and she absolutely enjoyed every bit of it. The Sunday after, all the kiddos did a performance at church and even though maddie was only there for one day, she did a great job singing the songs and dancing.

Kenzie is crawling!!!!!

Well, some might say 2 months is too long in between updates! I would have to agree but it is what it is and now I'm making some time to update the blog. Really, I'm just sick of people asking me when I'm going to update it--so I guess the nagging has worked!!! :) We have been very busy and doing a lot of fun things so here's a little sample:

Here's the oldest princess just showing off her pony tails.
Whenever we're home, ALL maddie does is play school. She lines up all of her dolls/bears/etc even the decorative wrought iron cat! and teaches them. It's really cute and I remember as a kid playing school all the time...
Some of you may have known about Kenzie's eating issue (or lack of eating) It turns out there is nothing wrong except for the fact that she and her tummy just weren't ready to eat. Now, at almost 7 months, she has started eating solids and keeping everything down and somewhat enjoying it we think. We're just 2-3 months behind but that's okay! Before she decided she would eat, one of her doctor's suggestions was to just give her the bowl with cereal and give her a spoon and let her play...I'll never do that again unless it's in the bathtub!!

We went to Ft. Myers Beach Florida in May for our annual trip to visit all of Tom's extended family. That was fun and of course maddie could have stayed on the beach all day and night. Kenzie on the other hand was not thrilled with the sand or the ocean. She also wasn't a huge fan of the pool when we first put her in but now water is probably her favorite thing.

Last but certainly not least, Mackenzie shocked me today by showing me she is now crawling. I was on a conference call for work and look over and she's all the way acoss the room headed for something she shouldn't touch--of course she bypassed about 5 toys she could have played with. We are now getting ready for a very fun summer with a few things planned already like a visit from the girls' 3 boy cousins, maddie is starting "big people dance class," vacation bible school, and who knows what else. I'll post more soon--I promise before 2 more months!!

Too Cute!

This was TOO funny. Mackenzie was in her swing and I realized she was cracking up at something. I looked over and Maddie was there so I asked what she was doing. Maddie showed me and all she was doing was flipping her hair and then Kenz would belly laugh!! I couldn't get enough of it. Enjoy!

Easter Egg Hunt!

Our neighborhood had its annual easter egg hunt for all of the kiddos. Maddie had a blast and did a good job "fighting" for eggs!

Mackenzie is 4 months old!

I can't believe Mackenzie is 4 months old already. Tomorrow she goes to the dr. and we'll find out if she can start having cereal:) She is really smiling and laughing a lot and is still so laid back and pleasant. I tried to capture it in the video but as we all know, kids don't perform when you want them too...(please ignore the silly sounds in the background!)

Maddie loves to read!

Well, we all know a 3 year old can't read...but they sure can memorize! This has been one of maddie's favorite books for a couple of years now so she definitely knows it by heart! Enjoy:)

Home Sweet Home

Well, the end of 2008 was certainly busy for us. Amongst other things (like managing an almost 3 yr old and having a baby), we bought our first house. We are absolutely in love with every bit of it and even though the decorating is a work in progress, I do have some pictures to show. Thanks to my most favorite Aunt Jackie, I had the help of a pro to decorate. There are still a TON of things I want to do but we have a good start. I will post more as more decorating gets accomplished.

This is the view outside of our back windows. (don't worry, the tractor is gone and there's grass now!)

Here's the front of our house (again while still under construction)

This is part of the living room leading into the playroom.

Jumping on the Band Wagon

Well...the time has come...I've finally decided that I HAVE to find the time to start and maintain a blog. Everyone else is doing it so I should too, right? Actually, I have two beautiful children and lots of friends and family that want to keep up with how fast they are growing. So here is the solution! We'll start with just a picture or two of each of the princesses--Madison Jeane (will be 3 on Saturday) and Mackenzie Elizabeth (3 months today!)

Mackenzie is just so sweet, unfortunately for her, she is a clone of her sister so I haven't taken many pictures--I can just pull out Maddie's baby pix to show people what she looks like!!

She is SUCH a good big sister...still learning what "gentle" really means but other than that, she's wonderful!

Isn't she gorgeous?!?!?!?

Maddie loves books and loves stickers so the combo of both is heaven for her!
